Public libraries in
Pinellas County are joining forces to improve your library services!
By the end of 2008, all public
libraries in Pinellas County will be using the same online public access
catalog, nicknamed PALS (Pinellas Automated Library System). So
you'll be able to search for items in one library and pick them up in another.
Some libraries in the county have done
smaller versions of this for years. Palm Harbor Library and East Lake Community
Library have shared a catalog since 2000. Dunedin Public Library, Largo
Public Library, Oldsmar Public Library, Safety Harbor Public Library and Tarpon
Springs Library have all been part of the Sunline system. St. Petersburg Public
Library, Gulf Beaches Library, Gulfport Library and St. Pete Beach Library have
been part of the SPIN system. This time, we're uniting everyone to make it
easier for you.
This will be done in 2 phases:
Phase 1 (April 2008) is done: Clearwater Public Library System, East
Lake Library, Gulf Beaches Library, Gulfport Public Library, Palm Harbor
Library, Pinellas Park Library, St. Petersburg Public Library, St. Pete Beach
Library
Phase 2 (August 2008): Dunedin Public Library, Largo Public
Library, Oldsmar Public Library, Safety Harbor Public Library, Tarpon Springs
Library
