John Brock Art Alcove – July and August 2020

July and August 2020

The John Brock Art Alcove features two artists in July and August for a joint show.  Tampa Bay-based artist, Jaimee Ponce, has been passionate about photography since 1996. She started out locally in the darkroom at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, learned all of the technical and manual aspects of the camera, and now blends that with her passion for finding beauty in all things. From landscapes, portraits, weddings, families, and helping to advance non-profit agencies, she uses the camera to help others feel and see what she does.

Jaimee’s evolution in photography has led her to be recognized in Grace Ormonde Wedding Magazine, Marry Me Tampa Bay, The Knot Magazine, and to be accepted as a photographer in The Gold Hope Program (a program built to connect children with cancer with photographers). Her appreciation of local life, nature, and finding beautiful light, has allowed her to create a landscape collection she would love to share with you!  Visit her online at www.JaimeePoncePhotography.com or Facebook.com/JaimeePoncePhotography

Gifts of the Ocean was started to create visual escapes for others and bring a sense of happiness and peace that our favorite vacation spots do. Kalinka, the face behind Gifts of the Ocean, is an artist who loves her family, the beach, and making beautiful things. She has been crafting and painting for as long as she can remember and always had a passion for art.

Inspired by the Ocean, her work depicts the beauty of Florida beaches through dynamic colors, fluid movements, and organic compositions. Using acrylics, pigments, and high-quality resin each original painting is completely unique and full of depth. The resin brings out the true depth and vibrancy of the colors and is just as reflective as glass when light hits it. In some works, Kalinka combines sculpting techniques with resin to achieve more realistic seascapes.  Visit her online at GiftsoftheOcean.com or by email at kalinka.mazreku@gmail.com
