New York Times: Locate articles and videos, opinion pieces, and the mini crossword from the New York Times.   Available in English, Spanish, and Chinese.  Option to sign up for numerous eNewsletters.

  • If you are outside of the library, click on the above link.  The redeem code will automatically show on the next screen.  Click the “Redeem” button.  Register for an account, click “login” and then login to your account for your 1 day access.  Repeat the next time you access the site (enter access code, click “Redeem” & login to your account).

Novelist: Read-alike book recommendations for title, authors, and series crafted by experts. Reviews, top ten lists, and award winners all in one place. You must have a Palm Harbor Library card to access this database. Plus is the premiere database for reading recommendations that helps you find your next good read! It allows you to use a favorite title, series or author as a template to discover other authors and titles of interest. You can browse theme-oriented book lists at every reading level, and search for intriguing authors and award-winning titles.

Ask a Librarian: Provides Florida residents with virtual reference service via live chat and text messaging from 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday (ET), and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday (ET). Email is available to patrons 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and all email is answered by the user’s local library.  Participating libraries can choose to utilize the email management system available through the Ask a Librarian platform, which offers customized local email forms, new mail notifications, and statistics management, or to utilize their own email management system through a page on that library’s site. Participating libraries may also utilize the software to provide local live chat or text messaging services to their patrons.
