Are you passionate about language, community service, and lifelong learning? Join our team as
a volunteer director for the Literacy program. The position and program are part of The
Literacy Council of Palm Harbor Library, overseen by the Palm Harbor Friends of the Library,
and located at 2330 Nebraska Avenue. This rewarding volunteer role is a unique opportunity to
make a lasting impact by helping adults in our community improve their English language skills.
For more information, visit the Friends of the Palm Harbor Library Website.

As Literacy Director, you will supervise this invaluable program to help adults who read below
an eighth-grade level – or for whom English is a second language – develop communication
skills and confidence. Your responsibilities will include recruiting, training, and supporting a
dedicated team of volunteer tutors. You’ll also maintain program records and collaborate with
library staff to enhance outreach and effectiveness.

Ideal candidates are organized, compassionate, and have experience in education, literacy, or
community programming. Familiarity with ESOL instruction is a plus, but not required—training
and support will be provided.

Help us create a welcoming environment where all voices can be heard. Apply today and be
part of a meaningful mission that transforms lives through literacy! Interested candidates
should contact Carol Mercier at carol@phlib.org or 727-373-7025.
